about shelly

Shelly is a 2012 graduate of the Bancroft School of Massage Therapy. She has received advanced training in Manual Lymph Drainage and Decongestive Therapy from the Dr. Vodder School International. She has also received advanced training in Structural Energetic Therapy®. She is Board Certified by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork and is a Professional Member of the American Massage Therapy Association. She has taken numerous courses in continuing education, including cupping, orthopedic massage, cranial sacral therapy, and others. Shelly is licensed to practice Massage Therapy in Maine (License MT6200) and Rhode Island (MT01959).

Having a long history of migraines, she was drawn to Massage Therapy as a non pharmaceutical approach to better health. Massage Therapy, along with changes in diet and exercise have made dramatic improvements in her quality of life.

She discovered the field of Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) when a friend convinced her to take the first class. She found the technique to be so effective that she continued on to become certified in the Vodder Method of Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT).

She was introduced to Structural Energetic Therapy® (SET) at a conference. A class was offered that used SET techniques to help with the management of migraine headaches. She thought - wow - how perfect of a class is this for me! Little did she know that SET would lead her on such a journey. She followed with a year-long training that taught her ways to address all kinds of pain. She received the treatments as she learned and was impressed with the results.

Shelly can often be heard telling people that the only thing better than giving a massage is getting a massage!
